Escape to Lovelady
Do you love the Lake District? So do we but this is an undiscovered part of Cumbria where it meets County Durham and Northumbria in The North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
This is perfect walking country, whether you want a gentle walk around a tarn or a more challenging walk over the Fells, there is something to suit everyone.
Here you can gaze out on the openness and natural scenery you might have thought had gone forever. With no street lighting the skies are often full of stars. Simply breathtaking.
Your hosts, Peter and Marie Haynes, have welcomed guests to Lovelady Shield for the last 20 years and their attentive staff are all local people who know and love the area and are keen to share the experience with you.
Lovelady Shield is a 19th century country house with 12 individual bedrooms nestling in a valley 400 metres from the nearest road devoid of traffic noise and boasts an award winning restaurant.
Visitors describe Lovelady Shield as a hidden gem. They value peace, tranquillity and natural beauty.
We like to call them Lovelady People.
